It's a 16TX. Has the rear window wiper and wind deflector - TX only fitments, AFAIK. Car would possibly yield a gearbox end (overdrive gear), headlights, sunroof and blinkers beyond the two items already cited.

Cheers, Adam (16TS in restoration).

Good guess, but its actually a Peugeot 204. Infact there were two 204s in that field of cars. Ill upload a few more later

There is an NSU in that same red which lives up my street, it does look quite similar at the back actually.

That Renault 16 was on the back of a recovery truck, both looked as if they had been there at least 10 years! There was also another recovery truck with a very smart BMW 3series coupe attatched, again they had been there some years. Really odd but very interesting to look at, just a shame that these Amis, 16s, R4s, 2CVs etc are not in use.

The last picture is St Christopher's Rock, its a 900 ft long cliff with more than a hundred caves hollowed out of the rock at different levels. It was inhabited 70,000 years ago. Quite an amasing place. There had been houses built inside the 'ledge' and up the front of the cliff face. Rather them than me!

I did wonder about an old Peugeot and the similarity to an NSU Prinz can
add confusion. I knew it wasn't a Ro80 as the lights are totally different.
I'm still kicking myself for not buying a Ro80 a few years back. It's quite
shocking how vertical the front screen is for a car that looks so advanced
and aerodynamic elsewhere. It was in a very 70's pea green with tan velour
interior. Damn!

I'd really love to have an Ami - fits nicely with the GS's and the few 2CV's
I've got.

There are even some weird non Citroen blasts from the past though in their
case that'd be a bad thing and they're best left where you found them! I recall
how visually challenging and offensive those Honds Preludes were (especially
in metallic Gold) and by God, is that a Ford Sierra - remember them...?

Do they ever actually finish a job they start in these garages in deepest France
or just take parts off whatever is parked nearby to fix something rather than
concentrate on dismantling just the one car first?

We usually go to France every 2 or 3 years, sometimes more often as we have friends down in that area. Very nice country, i love going.

The AA or RAC is a good place to look for info and tips.

Things like you need a reflective vest/jacket for every passeneger, a spare set of bulbs for your car, a warning triangle etc etc. The obvious things like keeping an eye on your tyres pressures throughout the trip, very improtant on the long 80mph toll roads.

We found toll roads to be fairly expensive, probably given the exchange rate, but it seemed to work out about £20 for 100 miles of 80mph motorways, probably double the cost of the petrol used! Although its worth it as otherwise your spending hours and hours on very tight winding roads. All very nice to see and indeed drive on (could do with an Activa!) when your at your location but when you have 500 miles to do in a day its not the best option.

I think they seem to park them up and think 'ill get round to that job soon' a few years later and there are rather a lot more jobs to be done. I like that though, sad as it is seeing them stood and uncared for, id much rather see them there than not at all if they had been crushed. Atleast there is the possibility to get the road going again.
