Strange suspension

Post by IAN.D »

Hi all,
Just wondering if anbody may be able to offer some advice?
1995 xantia 2.0 8v VSX (hydractive suspension)
The rear of the car when driving along changes ride height from normal ride height to sitting up high and keeps changing[:(!]
One minute the ride is good then the car goes up abit and is not so good[:(]
A friend sugested it could be the height corecter but I thought they usualy stick at a height when they went wrong? as happened on the front a while back.
I have changed the two outer spheres as I thought the harsh ride may have been them before I relized the height was changing.
Any help greatfully recieved.

A fair chance that the adjustment for the H/C has come loose & is rotating on the sway bar.
Get the car up on ramps or over a pit (essential not optional for safety's sake) and check it out. If not the cause, at least it's a good starting point.

Have checked H/C and all seems to be fine in that area.
The car also moves between the height settings from in car lever no probs and sits at correct ride height when not moving.
