Wheel Swaps

Post by CitroJim »

Firstly, does anyone know for sure if Activa wheels will fit straight onto a V6? Both carry the same size of tyre. 205/60 x 15.

The reason I ask is this: My V6 has four good but cheap tyres on it. The ones with unrecognisable names on them and made in somewhere like Uzbekistan. To cap it all, the rears are 65 section rather than the correct 60. The wheels themselves are not in the greatest of condition. I'm using my V6 daily and my 2.1TD is doing very little.

As the 2.1TD has a nice set of Activa wheels and good quality tyres on it, I'm considering swapping them over for the time being.

I have acquired a good set of Exclusive wheels to replace the V6 ones in the longer term and they will be shod with new, good quality tyres before fitting.

The other thing I'm a little concerned about is the looks of a V6 Exclusive wearing Activa wheels. Will it look all wrong :?

Dont be Silly jim, the V6 and Activas almost look the same bar the rear spoiler... so stick one on the V6 and they will look the same...

Id be pretty sure they would swap over... but of course I know nothing of the Activa cars apart from Zero Roll.

With a spoiler on the V6 it would be a case of Activa or not ..

I am FULLY planning on getting a rear spoiler for my V6... its needs one, I love the S2 SX cars with the added spoiler, its a nice addition, pretty much like the S1 XM spoiler ..... just ........ Right..

I quite agree Paul, they just don't look right without a spoiler on the back. Whatever were Citroen thinking?

Some say that because it is an executive car, anything that might hint at boy-racer would be unseemly

If I see a spoiler on offer I shall nab it...

    absolutely  Such a shame to see any V6 being broken but the fact is, at this time, they're worth more in bits than as a complete car  That one looks seriously tidy as well

Even if it is the 'box, a couple of hundreds of pounds woth of bits and a modicum of work would see it back on the road.

I was hoping that my autobox adventures might help save a few more by showing what's possible. Maybe it will one day.
