Mum's Xsara's coolant level light comes on after about driving for 2 miles.
I'm thinking the sensor needs replacing but has anyone ever had this happen and it not be the sensor?

yes , I had a small leak in a core plug type plug in the Thermostat housing/sensor holder on hdi . (rihgt hand side of head)
Part was £270 as citroen said whole unit not a core plug . I thoaght no im not paying, some chemical metal in the core plug will do it , done all ok .
I take it the header tank light coming on saying empty ,

Yes the light is coming on saying the tank is low but the level is right and hasn't dropped so there's no leak.
