Another question I forgot - if anyone can help please? Got 3 or 4 lines missing on my display - is this the actual display at fault or some other component?

That has been observed and sometimes found to be the connector loose or corroded.
It it (supposedly) easy to get at. Pry out the trim around the display - there are two marked places, at the bottom IIRC, where you insert a slim but blunt instrument - a kitchen knife in many cases, and lever it out gently.
The display is held in place with a couple of torx screws.
