When mine went the dealer was 2p more expensive than the parts factor and had them in stock.

Be cheeky and ask for a discount as it is a regular failure and must be a design fault.
Currently driving a 2004 C5 VTR (old shape) and an Electric Kia Soul. Sorry but the electric one is my favourite!

That sounds excessive!

If it is the same as mine (climate control module, sits above th clutch pedal and to the left) mine was only £45ish +VAT.

First of all what type of A/C do you have? Is it the fully automatic type or what?

Seems strange to me that a newer and higher model of C5 would have a simpler aircon than mine.

As said in the other similar thread, you should be able to repair that yourself quite easily. There are repair instructions for the Xantia variant here somewhere.

Yep, the other post covers much the same ground. http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... hp?t=27735

If the aircon has fixed speeds without ‘automatic’ setting, it may have a resistor pack where the fuse link blows; then only the top speed works, and none of the lower speeds work.
The silvery/yellow fuse is something like 170ºC, and available from electronics suppliers.
It usually blows when overheating from lack of air flow, and sometimes for no reason.
