Completed!....nearly lost my thumb in the process though glad its done even though its only a little job still had me on my toes.

thanks all...until my next mission....timing belt..nope think i will leave that to the pro's!

Comma recommend their AQM for a xantia TD auto transmission fluid. (http://www.commaoil.com/ ) What do you reckon? It's considerably cheaper. I can get it for about £21.00 for 5 litres.

In a word No.

The relatively small cost of buying genuine oil now, is worth it to preserving the life of your autobox, considering the expense of fixing an autobox, even if you do it all yourself (just ask Jim) I would not take any chances.

*edit just looked up AQM, here is the blurb

Suitable for use in automatic gearboxes, hydraulic systems, power steering pumps and torque converters requiring General Motors Dexron II® specification fluid.

Dexron 2... that is guaranteed death to an AL4!
