Trafficmaster not Working??

Can anyone help??
I have a C5 with the Trafficmaster Oracle, now i am used to Trafficmaster having a Freeway unit in my previous car but i am unable to get this one working. I have paid the £30 subscription and it was accepted by the car but all it says now is "Trafficmaster"!
I keep pressing the 'Tm' button to try and prompt an update but nothing happens, i have tried on motorways and main A roads where the sensors are but all i get is "Trafficmaster"
Is their something i am missing - something different from the Freeway unit to the Oracle???

Could be in the wrong mode, I don't think it speaks in manual mode.

You have to press the button very quickly to go through the modes

I am used to Trafficmaster as i have used them for many years but not built in models. My Freeway unit operates in the same way though - press the button twice for manual mode, press the button twice again for automatic mode, press three times for volume mode etc etc.
I would love it to tell me i am about to join the back of a traffic jam but it says or does nothing.
In fact, all it says is 'Trafficmaster' when the button is pressed once.

Well it must be authorised as it would say licence expired otherwise. I think I've got a spare unit somewhere, but I don't think it would be much cop to you as it would need it's own authorisation and another £30.

Agreed, it used to tell me that my licence was out of date so it has accepted my new licence code and now gone silent!!
I have checked the actual box itself and nothing appears to be disconnected so was wondering if i could change the box for another one or is there a simpler solution??
I am guessing that my subscription will need to be renewed again with a new or second hand box?

Any further ideas???

I've never used Trafficmaster, but my understanding is that the LED beside the dash display lights up when the unit's receiving data. Is this happening on yours?

No, the volume is set to maximum - just in case!!............................and no, the light neither flashes red nor green!

Well if it speaks when you select the various modes but doesn't pipe up to give you traffic info then I guess it must be a reception problem. You could try my spare unit but you'd have to get it authorised. Might be worth contacting the Trafficmaster people, they might have some ideas, but if all else fails you could ask for a refund.

Trafficmaster have given up on me with ideas, none of them seemed to work. If i knew how to check the reception i could check it but i don't.

I have the same problem but on my Xantia. It did work a few years ago, went red and green and was useful. did not renew, tried it to renew again this year, all ok, but all my xantia says is "traffic master". It did once pick up a green light, but only once in the last 7 months, and i've been on the motorway etc countless times , in areas i know this car use to get a signal.

No idea where to begin. It just feels like its not getting a signal.
