Xantia horn connector

Post by firstrebel »

I bought a replacement horn from GSF today but when I got home I found the connector on the horn is much bigger than the original one. Has this changed and will I have to get a bigger plug connector, although I think standard spade connectors will fit.

Hi Bob,

The OE Citroen horn has a two pin square connector fitment off your loom. The GSF horn you bought......was it listed for a Xantia? only because i can only recall us (GSF) doing x1 12v horn which is a universal unit. If it isnt specified for the Xantia then you will need to lop off the square plug and add on some spade connectors

I found it under Citroen > Xantia > Switches Senders and Instruments, so assumed it to be correct,

93633 HORN-HIGH TONE General Use

I'll take it back and order one from my local Citroen stockist.

Thanks

Hi Bob, give me ten minutes and I'll see if I kept an old one or if I left it in the car when I sold it...

No, sorry to give false hope. I must have left with the car.

Same horns (as fit Xantia) may be found on XM, Xsara, 605, 306 and 406 also. Note the high tone horn scroll goes one way, low tone the other direction.

Having both (the plugs are provided) makes for a nice meaty warning!
