There's this new scrappage scheme the government is running, if you've got a forum that's over 10 years old, it can be traded in for a new one and they'll give you £2000 rebate.... ;)

It should now be OK....

The webserver played up badly yesterday morning fo reasons I still don't fully understand

I got it working on the FCF at least, saw the BXC was good too and then got called away on an emergency.

As soon as I saw the BXC was down (at 05:00 this morning) I got stuck in to it.

I'll post some more news on this later...

Sorry for the delay but it decided to die just at the time I had some other things occupying me...

I think your forum settings are set to GMT, if you take a look in your profile you can alter your time zone to GMT + 1.

No,

It really was 05:00 BST this morning when I became aware of the BXC being down

The basic problem appears to have been connected with the webserver outage yesterday morning. It looks as if the hosts did an upgrade on it that caused authentication problems against the databases.

The fundamental problem with the BXC was one of permissions. For reasons best known to itself, the webserver decided to disallow access to the BXC to everybody.

Servers have bouts of this sort of bizarre, inexplicable behaviour from time to time. All seems OK following the application of some technical TLC to it...
