C5 heater controls

Post by Joe Pineapples »

Hi all
I have a C5 with the manual heater controls on the centre dash.
Can anyone tell me if replacing the manual controls with the digital ones from a higher spec model will give me climate control, or is there other hardware that I need to get hold of?

Cheers
Joe

Wasn't sure if the LX came with an a/c compressor.

As it does then it should in theory be possible to uprate it.

I imagine that you would need to have the motors to adjust the flaps and the sensors to measure the cabin temperature fitted too, possibly the control unit above th clutch pedal too.

Have you an outside air temperature showing on the display as this is integrated into the system too?

It seems that most of the wiring is in place for the additional bits and bobs so it is possible to fit them. Sometimes the cost is the sticking point.

Yes, I have the outside air temp. too.

I was hoping it was just as simple as pulling out the old dash panel and slotting in the newer one.

Perhaps not! :D

It may well be as simple as that as all the infrastructure appears to be there.

Wheeler will be along eventually to give a definitive answer - or at least a better informed one.

It wouldnt be impossible but it's certainly not plug & play. You would need to replace the heater box, heater harness, the control panel & a bit of reprograming with lexia.
