What car is this on?

Is it possible you can attempt this job yourself as having any dealer do it will cost at least 10 hours in labour on a Xantia and will cost a fortune.

The job is not hard, just laborious and time consuming. There's plenty of advice on here how to.

Sorry, I found the task far too daunting for my talents.
Citrotec in Bristol have since carried out the work (at a very reasonable price) and they have given the dash some bling...

Citrotec's normal price for replacing a heater matrix is £500.
However, Citrotec know the car & charged me £300 total.

I dread to think what a Citroen main dealer would charge, or whether they would recognize a Xantia.

My next step is to replace the a/c compressor; then I will have a car with NO faults!

The cheapest I can find a new a/c compressor is £190 & VAT.
Does anyone know where I might be able to beat this price?

Does anyone else need a new a/c compressor?
I may be able to arrange a discount for quantity.

There is a compressor on the Xantia I'm about to scrap, give me a shout if you want it and I'll take it off for you.

To be honest mate I would not bother with the aircon. My experience with fixing a compressor on an older car is that once done the pressure then finds any tell tale joints around the system, Before you know it you can end up spending a fortune on new joints and tracing etc.

Of course if you are in a place where the summers are unbearably hot that`s different.
