First treat all ebay offers of Plips for auction with the greatest of care
How true is this! I bought an identical plip on eBay for my C5. Although I managed to change the blade so that it would manually open the doors and turn over the starter motor, the Citroen dealer was unable to reprogramme the ebay plip to my car.
This worries me a bit. I'm awaiting delivery of a plip for the C5 because the previous owner damaged the casing and pinned the key blade into the open position. I was rather hoping I could transfer the blade and the internals to the replacement, is this not the case?

If you are transferring the 'guts' of your old plip into a different case, then I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work OK. When I changed the key blade, I held the blade in a vice and tapped the plastic base off the key. It's just held as a tight fit. I then inserted a key blade that I had cut from the original.

Thanks for the advice. I now have a fully operational plip. :D I did have to put a couple of miniature screws in to secure the blade but that's OK.

If you want I can send you the innards from my eBay one (FOC of course) to see if you can get it programmed to your car, or is it never possible?
