CITROEN XANTIA 1.9TD TURBO DIESEL 215MM CLUTCH KIT BNIB

Post by Gregg1100 »

Hi,
I saw this on fleabay-- Item number: 120400920603 and thought it was wrongly described. I thought all the 16v petrols and 1.9 TD's had a PULL type clutch---having fitted one, I know the kit---but this one is a PUSH type, albeit without the thrust bearing. The thrust bearing on the Pull type is fixed to the clutch cover/ pressure plate.
I think a push type can probably be fitted, as long as the push type fork is used-correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks,
Greg

doesn't the clutch cable pull against the lever which pushes against the clutch diaphram spring plate? I thought most clutches worked like this?

regards nigel.

Yea, the Pull type clutch arrangement actually MOVES the outer cable forwards when you press the pedal and pulling the release forks outwards - Rather then pulling the inner cable into the outer and pushing the release forks...

I have often wondered if a push clutch would work satisfactorly, with modifying the cable cradle...

Im in need of a clutch for the 1.9td 208k car I got it, its VERY heavy and on the slipping side of its life...
