Hi, I have already posted a topic regarding my 'ESP' & 'anti-pollution' fault messages which i am still trying to solve!!
However, on my searches, i have noticed a small hole on the Intercooler. Well, i cant see the hole but judging by all the crap it has left around it, it was worth removing and checking.
Checked it out in a bath of water and it did indeed have a hole which i cannot see.
My question to you is; would this hole affect and/or cause the 'ESP' & 'Anti-pollution' fault messages??
I have had the ECU scanned and it come up with a: faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor (intermittent) and a fault with the Turbo/Supercharger Wastegate Solenoid.
Car is a C5 2.2HDi Est - 2001.

Hi,
Until you get the intercooler replaced with a known good one you'll be chasing your tail trying to cure the 'other' faults. I'd say that the MAF sensor fault and Wastegate errors are down to the leak. The MAF 'knows' how much air the engine is ingesting but some of this is being lost. Assuming that this engine has a MAP sensor then the ECU knows there's a problem. Also anti-pollution could mean EGR fault, this would correspond to the difference in the amount of air the MAF sensors and what the engine actually consumes. If you took it to a specialist I'm sure they'd recommend replacing the intercooler before even trying to nail down the error messages. Unless scanned with a dealer tool the error codes could be slightly wrong.
Hope that helps.
Steve.
