Hi all,
couple of problems, Firstly, no intermitent wipe on the front windscreen, it won't work. I've replaced the stalk with one out of another xantia and stillit won't work. Is there a relay for this somewhere??
Also, ABS isn't working, it runs it's checka nd the ABS light goes out suggesting all is well, but then locks up under heavy braking.
Finally, the remote central locking isn't working. I've replaced the IR pick up with one out of another car and tried it with that cars key, but it still won't work in mine. Any ideas??
Sorry, one more thing, the plunger on the back of the brake pedal, how does it come off. I can feel it, but can't get it to move to withdraw it...Help!
Thanks chaps

Its just a case of lifting the brake pedal to give you more clearance and pulling and wiggling it out.

Check to see if the central locking plip works ok with a digi camera. Will it sync to the car?
If not check the wiring to the receiver. The permanent 12v to my receiver was 4.8v! the pinouts are as follows..
Pin 1 : chassis earth
Pin 2 : +12V igniton key via fuse F30
Pin 3 : NOT connected on Mk1 - deadlocks on Mk2
Pin 4 : lock/unlock
Pin 5 : live +12V via fuses F25 & F8
Did you once own a super low mileage glacier white renault 5 gt turbo? random question i know..

ABS Fault: I had this on a Xantia VSX L reg 1994...
All sensors checked out so I guessed it was the ECU... I sold the car BEFORE discovery of this so never had the chance to change the ECU to see if it was at fault... It is possible to swap ECU's WITHOUT removing the pipe work, but you need to remove battery tray and the racking that holds the fuse box and relays to get at the two TORX bolts that hold the ECU to the Block.. Itsd a simple pull away once thats done.
Also Ditto the response above RE: Wiper.. Theres a Timer reply above the accelerator pedal, not sure of the colour though... this is either missing or faulty.. Its not often the wiper stalk, unlike the indicator stalks that wear out...
