Synergie- Is it any good?

Post by reblack68 »

I spotted a 1998/99 Synergie 1.9TD SX for sale and I'm quite tempted. I know it will be a bit slow and van-like but that doesn't bother me. Is there any major reason not to buy one?

I entertained the possibility of getting one before buying the Scenic. I tested quite a few, but found the majority of them were ex-taxis with big miles.

The Fiat version seems to be a good bit cheaper than the Cit/Pug equivalent for some reason

Got rid of a 1997 Fiat ulysse petrol 3 years ago with 177,000 Miles. Still see it in everyday use. It was replaced by a 01 Synergie HDI. Both had 8 seats. They seem to be as good as or better than the most popular competitor. Sliding doors very good especially in tight car parks. Flat floor means that you can let small children in and out of the drivers door if necessary.
Problems: Starter motor failed on ulysse. In tank pump failed on Synergie

Peugeot Citroen & Fiat versions are the same except for colours, badges and tail lamps
