Yep C5 uses LDS as said, and is orange

Older Citroens (50s and 60s to be rough) used LHS which was similar to DOT3 brake fluid I believe. Not sure what colour it was mind.

I think LHM+ is just a development of LHM. Think it has better properties than LHM. I believe it provides better protection against corrosion and can cope with higher loads

Yes put LHM or LHM+ into your C5 and you will probably kill it. Some people might argue that's no bad thing! :(

After a bit of snooping around it seems as though LHM+ has improved anti-foaming properties.

If anyone has any experience of AEP Direct I'd like to hear it. If they appear to be OK a link in "Useful Links" may be helpful - unless you are after LHM, in which case they are no use at all.

I've used them, no problems at all and if you are a CCC member then you get a 10% discount.

So LHM+ is just a better LHM and suitable for my Xantia, yes?

Yes, LHM+ is what your supposed to put in the Xantia. LHM is compatible but Citroen does recommend LHM+

Orange LDS is not  Don't let it near the Xantia...

If not, what's the difference. I see LHM+ around at times and for some reason I think 'C5' :?
NO NO NO!!

The C5 uses LDS (Liquide Direction Suspension), and is shared by the suspension and the steering. It is orange coloured.
LDS was/is red in colour

All oil products heve seen a sharp rise in cost in line with oil prices, my engine oil that I usually pay about £7.50 for has just risen to over £10.00. but I am sure it will come down again, its just slower through the pipeline than fuel. Heating oil has come down from nearly 60p per litre to 37p in the last three months.

I have used AEP a few times Steve and have found them to be very good.

They sell Total LHM+ @ £5.54 (Inc VAT) per litre
AEP part #: 147574

and £81.93 (Inc VAT) per 20 litres
AEP part #: 149283

They also have an internet shop.

Odd that they don't list LHM+ on their site linked to above. I presume your prices are for a bricks and mortar shop?

These people have lots of oils including LDS but no LHM.

Looks like it might be a usefull site, millions of different spheres, but no green juice for them

AEP Direct.

I don't recall anyone mentioning them here but possibly just forgot :(
I think that may have been Auto Equipe.

I have bought from the premises in Rutherglen Glasgow.

Prices and quality seem good. Total gearbox oil for Xantia was very good price last time I bought it.

As I understand it they are Glasgow based only.
In effect for most people they are a mail order supplier.

Yes it is a bit odd they don't do LHM on the ebay shop. I looked to see if it might be cheaper.
Thier Glasgo price is good and postage used to be free for orders over 50 Pounds
