my R reg 1.9 TD sounds very smooth and quiate compaired to that one, and its on about 180 odd K miles,
some CX'S and XANT's have a small slide togle switch instead of the usual mechanical lever

CitroNut, Thats a surprising comment from you! The XANT never had a switch, ONLY the CX S2 ever had a switch...
All others were mechanical levers, except of course the new ones ah la C5.. Andrew, we are right... and you should know more then any of us RE switch in the CX...

Paul, citroenxm wrote:I would like to add in your video you mention Siezed Height correctors.. well as in fact its NEVER useually the height correctors the sieze but the stupid complex control unit that controls the height corrector itself.. theres two swinging levers which one is attached to the Plastic clip you mention and the other to the height corrector... and its actually these arms that seize NOT the height corrector itself...
A very good professional looking video.. what sort / type of camera did you use??

Right, shall we say that its most commonly the height correct to anti roll bar link that has seized instead?
Its a Sony DCR TRV 355e camcorder to be specific, top of the range Digital8 camera....when I bought it a few years ago Before I had a proper job, took me nearly a year to save up all my paper round money for it im only a young un at 18 you see

OK! I salute you! An 18 year old into Citroens! Im VERY impressed with you...
I thought I was one of the youngest Citroen Fans, and like your self been driving them sine I was about 19, starting with a few BX's..
What actually happens is the Control levers that actuate the height correctors Sieze, then the clamp and link cannot move so the clamp link snaps... just changing the clamp is no good without removeing the whole control assey... the height corrector itself is not a problem, its just everything else around it...
If I remember correctly, the BX never had this problem, and the XM uses a similar set up and Im certain Ive not heard of the same problem on XM's either... They both use the simple Rod from anti roll bar to height corrector - employing NO complex units at all...
Not sure what Citroen were trying to achive with the stupid unit..
Great Vid... Looking forward to your next ones, somethingI always wanted to do..
