xantia injector

Post by bradspau »

Hi. I had to replace the leak off pipe from injector 2 to 3 on my 1.9 td xantia. I didnt have any injector pipe available, so have cut off some of the LHM resivour overflow pipe and used that to get me out of a hole. This has worked and is holding. The question is will this be ok for a permanant repair and what does the leak off pipe do. I assume it carries unused diesel back into the system?

thanks.

That'll be fine. As it's LHM-proof it'll be OK with diesel.

In extremis you could even use windscreen washer pipe or aquarium air line as a temporary leakoff pipe repair.

...as long as its also fairly heat proof, if its rubber it should be OK but plastic will go hard and leak again. I believe you can get it in Halfords for not to much money. Yes, they return 'leaked off' fuel to the tank.
