LPG Xantia Dual Fuel fuses

Post by genius149 »

Having been driving an LPG powered Lexus for the last couple of years, I thought I'd revert back to something with hydraulic suspension and take the gamble on the reliability

Anyway, I have a W Reg (2000) 1.8 LX dual fuel, factory fitted etc. that has been tinkered with in the past so now the LPG system is not switching over. The fault code diagnosis refered to removing fuses K1 and K2 as part of the problem. We (myself and the guy from the LPG specialist) couldn't find the two fuses under the bonnet so we disconnected the battery for 10 minutes to clear the codes. This didn't cure the problem however so the next bit is finding fuses K1 and K2. Does anyone know whereabouts they are as it could be as simple as one of them being blown or removed by a previous owner?

Thanks

I may just have the info. I know my set of Xantia manuals has some LPG info but it may only be MK1 stuff. I've not got access to them at the moment but when I'm back home, I'll have a look.

I fear you may need a Lexia to clear the fault codes. Not all will clear by disconnecting the battery.

Thanks Jim

According to my brief research and short memory, the LPG system was first fitted in 1997/98 so I thought it would only have applied to the mark 2. Although I'm not entirely sure when the mark 2 was introduced.

What on earth is a Lexia?

I'm terribly sorry  I looked right through all the information I have in all seven volumes of my manuals and all four electrical diagram volumes and all I can find is modifications to the bodyshell to fit the LPG tank  My manuals only really cover the MK1 although I have some early MK2 wiring diagrams.

The Lexia is the Citroen diagnostic tool required to fully read the ECUs and clear any fault codes they have.

Unrelated but is your car white and on the M25 this morning? Drove past one in my van just past J5 after 9am... Was it you or am I going mad spotting Xantias?

I am using a 1.8 16v xantia P reg fitted with a Landi Renzo SE81 sec
system fitted 6 years ago, if you have the same I could possibly trace back the wiring circuits if you think that would help.
Who made the vaporizer?and supplied the controllers?
Citroen would have bought them in for certain.

Thanks bxman, mine was originally fitted with a maclaren thing at the factory but has since had the vaporiser changed to something that is completely different, so I don't think yours would be similar at all. If the weather is good tomorrow, I will get under the bonnet, trace a few wires around and take some pics.

Xantiaman583, yes you are mad, mine is blue and although I am in Kent, I try and avoid the M25 if at all possible.

Jim, thanks for investigating that for me. Much appreciated even though it was fruitless. Although, even with a wiring diagram I still wouldn't be able to work out where the fuses are/should be.

superloopy1 wrote:My electrical diagram shows two internal fuses for LPG system.

F3 [ 15A LPG gauge damping control unit, 3 relay control unit, LPG/Petrol dialogue double unit, LPG/Petrol switch ]

and

F13 [ 30A LPG ECU ]

No guarantees but may be worth while reseating/replacing both or maybe just F3 ...

No mention of K1 / K2 ??
Thanks for this. If I can find the fuses I will check and remove/replace as necessary. I will try under the dash next as the fuses under the bonnet aren't numbered/lettered as far as I can tell apart from the big ones (30, 40 Amp) which are lettered A, B, C etc. up to H. ](*,)

Thanks for that - the fuses are unplugged and will be replaced in the morning. Hopefully that will help :?
