Did you read the chips on these?
Were you able to read the chip whilst it was still in the radio...if so how did you connect the wires to the chip?
citroenxm wrote:The two radios that are blocked I have the codes for - I do that procedure you sugested, and it just draws up 4 lines below the block out lines already in the display...
What model numbers are these radios?

So far I removed all chips to read, not got any radios left now to decode, however, when I get hold of an 8 pin socket and make it up, Ill try an in situ read and see what happens...

The radios are the Standard SX and upwards with CD changer Clarion PU-1562 A models of radio....

Thanks for the model number.....

If you take off the top lid of the radio & look at the right side of the PCB is there 10 solder links ...could be marked as C1 to C10 ?

No not on this radio, that was the earlyer units that used that system...

These ones, simply remove the BOTTOM cover, three screws, and its there on the right hand side looking up at tyou...

I think the link coded units were used in the 309, EARLY S1 405's and possibly 205 models....

That's that plan knackered then..... :(

When you read the 2 chips from the other radios did you notice if there was any numbers just after the code?

Example…

FF FF 65 12 00 04 55 55 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF

65 12 = Code

In the example above I believe the 00 04 represents code entry attempts... so this is showing that the code has been entered wrong 4 times....I don't know if the number will ever go above 4 even if the code has been attempted more times.

This number can be changed ....if it is, the radio should then time out to display the CODE IN screen.

Obviously you would have to read the chips in the locked radios to get to this point.

After I had read the chip from my mates radio & refitted it I still had to wait a couple of hours for the radio to time out to the CODE IN screen....I was advised at the time that if i had edited the 00 04 that this would have got me straight to the CODE IN screen without the wait.

.... a few weeks later I got hold of another radio to have a mess with.....this time after I had read the code I altered the 00 04 to 00 00.....& hit the "Write" button in the programmer ....I then read the chip again to see if it had changed to 00 00 ....but the whole readout then just read all FFFF FFFF FFFF etc. Tried a few more things but no luck.

I put the chip back in the radio but the display was just dead....so I think by attempting to edit the 00 04 it had corrupted the chip.

Maybe the very basic programmer we're using isn't up to writing to the chip or something.

You could always build yourself a real programmer to read & maybe edit the chips of your locked radios....the programmers look very simple & only needs a few parts ....the plans for them & the software to run them is available on the net.

Im not a programmer unfortunally...

So would have to rely on someone elses skills to write a program
