XUD9BTE +AC sump replacement
Has anyone replaced the sump for a Xantia 'on the car' on a model with AC at all?
Mine has cracked and now holed and im considering trying to source a used sump to stick on there. The only place locally to me that may stock them specialises in pugs so im not sure if a pug one will doe as no doubt the mounts will be slightly different for it...
the other option is whipping it off and getting it welded up by my nieghbours friend for a few quid.
How hard a job is it as i can see i have to take off the AC compressor and the aux belt?
The hardest part of that lot looks to be the aux belt as its such a fiddly blooming thing to do
If not is it possible when the oil has ran out of it to weld it up with some plate steel while its on the car or would the oil inside it just catch fire??

Sumps come off in situ relativily ok.
Air con compressor off, as you have sussed, flywheel plate off, then the 3000 bolts holding it on...
The sumps on any XUD Peugeot or Citroen will do. As long as its a TD XUD WITH air con, they were all mounted in the same way...
A specialist alloy welder could weld it, but my guess also is it would need to be off the car for heat reasons...
If you remove the top engine mount, jack under the sump, and lower the engine a bit, you can then get a Torx drive on the auto tensioner and release the tension to remove the aux belt..

I live a bit far away jgra and i use my car everyday for the 25mile trip to work and back
Im going to see if some more liquid metal cures it this evening and then just shove some cheap teso oil in for £9 and see how she goes....
Tell you all one thing, from the front door to work the oil has gone from clean to black already!

Ok not having much luck with liquid metal as just as its setting a tiny bit of oil seems to attack the liquid metal and thus break the seal
Found this place that does new sumps but they dont list one for the turbo and i think the one i list below is the wrong one as it doesnt allow the turbo oil return pipe to drain back to the sump?

Going to have to see if i can find anyone breaking an engine locally but wont hold out much hope as they seem to be sold whole as tall blocks and not short blocks anymore

The oil Drain pipe from the turbo DOES NOT go into the sump, it goes into a pipe attached to the BOTTOM of the block, just above the sump....
So if you have NO AIR con, it will do, otherwise, you'll need an Alloy one for the Air con mounts..
You could on the other hand leave the air con compressor off and convert it to manual adjuster with no air con....
