I would think it highly unlikely John :(

Even on the Xantia, the estate towbar is significantly different to the one fitted to the hatchback and they are not interchangable.

Hi John, there's a story here, what's given you the hump with the Xantia then?

BTW, I'd agree totally with Jim's prognosis on the towbar. Whilst they all
appear generic on the floor in the pictures on ebay etc, they're tailored to
suit the specific mountings ofg the car's rear strengthening members and
shouldn't be a 'one size fits all' design. See what a pukka new one ebay
fetches; many towbar specialists sell their products here due to the good
national coverage.

Hi,

what hasnt given me the hump might be easier to answer..

The MOT is due in december so here goes. The blower went so i changed the blower motor, it wasnt that. so i changed the ignition switch, guess what! it wasnt that, so i gave up on that as i didnt want to put in the relay.
Hand brake calliper snapped, Radiator blew a leak last week and i have an enormus knocking when turning the wheel on both sides.. Only when turning slowly, Maybe a 3 point turn or similar.
I just seem to be spending a hell of alot of cash on it lately so my Father in law kindly donated his car to me.. Result!!! So if any body wants an ignition switch with key let me no before it stays in the footwell to the scrapyard.

What model is it, and where is it before it goes for scrap? You'd do a lot
worse than advertise it here amongst the Citroen DIY'er nutters that's all!!

Weigh it in?!?!
Im sure someone here will take it off your hands for a bit more than scrap value regarless on what type of Xant it is. Doesn't sound like the problems are major, just needs someone with a bit of time. I expect the knocking is just worn UJ joints.

Even if you fleabayed the towbar you'd probably get more than the scrap value of the car.

Estimate the value of the car if the major problems were fixed, then subtract the cost of the parts needed and you've got a rough asking price to start from. If it's lower than the scrap value and people won't match the scrap value, try selling parts before scrapping the remains.
