Wow no one changes them! I'm waiting for 100,000 miles as per the book. Or maybe I will trade in then instead as it will need new particulate filter, something to do with pulleys? And my clutch still works so that will probably fail then too.

Best to change them before they break
Most seem to think that around 80,000 miles is optimum but it really depends on how the car has been used, like so many other things.
I can't be sure if mine was done at 100,000 (just before I bought it) so it is being done in a week or so just to be on the safe side.
