Citroen C5 clutch adjustment

Post by axford »

Hi, When I bought my 2L HDi Citroen C5 two years ago the bite point was right at the top of the clutch pedal which I thought a bit strange but has worked perfectly since then. Now however I am starting to have difficulty changing gear very slightly and feel it is because of the wear occurring on the plates during that time. Does anybody know how I can manually adjust the cable to lower the bite point please? When I press the clutch pedal a black concertina shaped object (on top of the gearbox) moves in and out and there seems to be a brake pipe type pipe joined onto the end (? hydraulic clutch). When I am in neutral the gearbox is still smooth so I think it is not a problem with the gears themselves. It just needs adjusting a wee bit. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Unfortunately you can't adjust hydraulic clutches - it sounds like it's new clutch time  Even worse, this has a dual mass flywheel which should be replaced at the same time: £££
