C5 radio problem

Post by briwall »

Hi,
I have a 2002 C5 with a dicky radio/cd player.
It loses signal on the pre-set channels but if it is re-tuned to another channel its ok for a short time then gets crackly again.
I have checked the ariel connection on the car roof and have cleaned it.
Is this a common fault and if so how easy is it to replace the stock radio with another one and will the dash display still work?
Any help will be much appreciated
Thanks

Sounds like it could be a problem with the aerial base, there is an amplifier built into it. more likely to be this than the radio itself.
If you fit an aftermarket radio the dash display will still show the date & time but not any info to do with the radio/CD.

My 2002 C5 radio developed radio reception problems. An independent garage replaced the radio with one from another C5 that was being broken for parts. Needed programming with the Lexia computer to make it work.
Currently driving a 2004 C5 VTR (old shape) and an Electric Kia Soul. Sorry but the electric one is my favourite!
