XM: New Centre+accumulator= Bounce

Post by rg »

Hello Folks,
The 2,5 went to a local Cit specialist (Dave Stott - Middlesbrough)
He replaced accumulator and one centre sphere and LHM (66K). Fronts have
20K on them
The car now bounces violently over speedbumps. Mainly the front, but the back appears to do it in sympathy.
Yes, it's going back to him. And he drives an XM so should have some idea. He,s generally helpful and has handled Cits since 1972
Any suggestions? It's not a "dead sphere bounce", but almost as if the car is being moved up and down by the system to "simulate" a bounce.
Should the system be self-bleeding? LHM has been changed and was quite mucky.

FWIW my local chap re-gassed the front spheres and all seems sorted now. I was a touch disappointed as recon. spheres were put on around 20K ago, so this deflation seems a little premature.
I followed a Xantia up the A1 yesterday which was doing excatly the same. I almost felt tlike pulling ti over and explaining..
