Hi All,
I'm new to the forum so I appreciate this may have been asked before.
I have a '03 C5 Hdi - I noticed today under the rear wheel some fluid leaking onto the footpath. Seems to be coming from the Sphere ? Is this common with the C5 and is it an expensive repair?
Could I ignore it and if so what would the end result be ?
Would photos help ?
THanks in advance
Damian

I've just had the same thing with mine, although not as severe as yours. It is a known fault but a cheap and simple fix.
All it is is the rear ram gaiter. It is designed to collect the fluid overflow from the ram and 'pump' it back to the reservoir.
Mine had a pinhole near the clamp.
I couldn't say precisely what it cost to fix as it was done along with a few other minor jobs, mainly inspections and tests, but the lot was only £35 including parts.
It isn't really urgent but don't delay too long and muck up the drive.
MOT inspectors won't like it as they rarely appreciate how Citroen hydraulics work and a leak on a shock absorber is a fail. They are unlikely to see the difference.

a new gaiter and clamp will be in the £12'ish range - add to this 1hr labour to free the suspension cylinder in order to replace the gaiter and refit things.
Since the wheel must come off you can safely benefit if waiting to next service where the rear brakes must have a work over anyway.

Mine needed new suspension cylinders. They were rather expensive.
