Diff part nos between Mk1 and Mk2. As to whether it will fit - only one way to find out Laughing

What's up with the tank in yours....
Leaked around the top seal (gauge/pump aperture) when I bought it 2 years ago - mostly when tank is fullish..

I changed the seal, without much improvement it must be said. I feel that the problem is that someone has distorted the top threaded part of the opening, and the only way to effect a cure is to change the tank. The underneath of the car is always a little greasy.

Are you saying that MK1 and MK2 have different part numbers even if they are identical?

It's a hard one to call Lol. Service.citroen.com suggests the hatch and estate uses the same tanks but they are different between MK1 and MK2 models.

It's a little confusing as they quote tanks for MK1 hatches but don't explixcitly list an estate version. On MK2 Xantias, neither hatch nor estate is mentioned and it appears every variant uses the same tank.

I find this a little surprising as normally everything is different on an estate
In reality, the estate and hatch use the same tank, BUT MK1 and MK2 are NOT the same. I have found one for £60 + VAT thanks everyone.

Another nearly painful expense: driver's side electric window winding mechanism... NONE of the composant parts are available separately including the plastic clip that stakes the cable ends to the glass holder.

New mechanism: €428 Euros incl VAT (currently £340GBP). Found one from the same source for £35GBP. Phew!

High guys, some of you will remember my fairly recent need of a driver's electric window mechamism, as well as a HDi fuel tank for a Xantia estate - these items cost around £600 from Main Stealers.

Well, I found the items via breakers.com (PCR Recylers), and they delivered them to S France for the sum of £194GBP - both items in good condition. I am well pleased.

I had the apparent fuel leakage problem on our ZX 1.9D when we bought it. After replacing one tank ring which made no improvement I had a better look at the tank top with a torch and mirror - and found another vent pipe - which was split.

I cut a small hole in the floor to get access, replaced the pipe and riveted a plate over the hole and sealed it with seam sealer.

I'll take a look - the Xant has a biggish inspection/access bung...
