Finally the mystery of these non functioning cooling fans is solved!
Firstly I would like to say a huge thankyou to DickieG, for helping me yesterday, his enthusiasm, and expert knowledge, were invaluable
Cutting a very long story short, I bought my activa recently, at auction, and soon discovered the cooling fans didnt cut in as they should.
After lots of faffing about, the only way I could get one to run, was to bridge contacts in the relay box - obviously not ideal.
I took Richard up on his offer to give my car the once over, and went down to his house.
It turned out, that there were two problems!
Quite obviously,someone else had attempted to fix the fans previously, and had not succeeded.
It turned out that one fan motor was not connected, due to there being a broken piece of a previous motors connector being stuck in the wiring plug!
And secondly, it turned out that the motor that previousl ran when I bridged the relay, had since given up the ghost!
So, with another motor, and the boken piece removed from the plug, finally both fans run as they should
