Citroen Service site

Post by red_dwarfers »

I just tried to sign up to the citroen service website, get to type in name, address etc and find that there's no selection for UK/England.

I am guessing this problem is linked to the fact that it wont accept my VIN number when looking up spares...any ideas?

Once you're registered, you can change the default language in the control panel, or whatever it's called in French. But I don't know why it doesn't accept your VIN - I doubt the choice of language is the reason.

Click UK at top right.
Put VIN in, with no spaces at front, in middle or back, then click OK.

Sorry, I must have phrased it wrong!
I've got it in the English language.
When I signed up it asks you for your information as per below:

On the Country pulldown menu I didn't see anything UK/English esque so me being me, I clicked Norfolk
I'm now presuming that this has had an adverse effect on typing in my VIN somehow.
I typed in mine and it came up "Unknown Vehicle", I also tried the 'example' one on your brightly coloured sunny screenshots which also came up with the "Unknown Vehicle".
Before anyone says I tried both Os and 0s
Where am I going wrong!
Thanks in advance!

Hi r_d -

You may PM to me your VIN, I'll be happy to try tip it in.
It does nor matter which country you are in (i.e. from which national server you are accessing Citroen service net server).
The VIN no should be recognised anywhere in the world, as your car may break down in Italy needing service from an Italian dealer.
Or your car may be exported to Kiwi land - etc, etc.

Note : IMPORTANT : you can NOT retrieve any information - UNLESS you are logged in as a valid user with a valid username and password. Thats why you have to register - and then wait for the mail reply containing your initial account password.

Norfolk Island will do, it’s Australia.
UK is Grande Bretagne, literally "Great Brittany".

It's been a while, but I've got around to sorting meself out.
The problem must have been the selected country or just a general account creation fault.
After stealing a friend's email address, my VIN number is now being accepted!
Its now under Grande Britainy - Great Britain sounds so much more royal in a French accent

Don't say that to a Norfolk genuine descendant.
