MLt5 Gearbox info wanted.

Hi Everyone..

I think I have the correct gearbox code..

I've aquired a DERV gearbox for fitting to my XM 24v series one BUT, unfortunally, which may well be obvious when thought about, the bell housings are different.

So does anyone know or have an exploded diagram of one of these boxes.. or does anyone know what procedure is needed to swap them.. Ive got the bell house split away from the cogs but it wont let go (on the old box of course) any sugestions...

Ive posted it on here, as the Pug 605 would be the same and it may catch their eye too..

Many thanks in advance

Rgds

Which DERV box have you found ? 1.9, 2.1 or 2.5 ?

There will be stickers with both type & series numbers on the box.
I cant see how you would fit a BE3 (basic type) box to the V6 ?
The BE3 box will not last long when whipped around by a V6.

Hi

Its a DERV box out of a 2.1 1997 model year...

Do you need actual numbers? I asked about ratios before, and found that the original 24v box and the 2.1 DERV box were close enough to put one in..

The MLT5 box is special for the V6 ...

(but also used in various vans)

Andres,

No i dont think.. the BOX is IDENTICAL on the outside, same construction etc etc. Its DEFENATLY NOT a Be3 box...

And being for a DERV it will be stronger...

I wouldn't dream of fitting a Be3 box in there, besides the gearlinkages are very different for BE3 and MLt boxes...

Thanks anyway... Anyone else?

There are no other XM models (except V6) specified with the MLT5 box ?

Other manual box types found are the ME & MG types - besides the BE3.
All 3 very different from the MLT5 - as you points out.
This is true for both Mk1 & Mk2 series XM.
