That seems to be the way with HDi 110 (and presumably the 2.1) - they just gather speed without you noticing. Till you're into licence losing territory
Dex (Jim's 2.1) struggled to get over 100mph when I had him. Don't worry Jim, I didn't do it more than once or twice, it was just too hard to get there, whereas Cassy will fly up to 100 if I'm not careful.
