Xantia Door Lock

Post by Keith J »

Hello there,

I wonder if anyone can help. I need a door lock for the rear passenger door (UK model) of my 1996 Xantia 1.9TD Estate. I really don't want to spend over £100 on a new one as the car isn't worth that much investment. Find a part and local scrappies etc have all drawn a blank. If anyone has one from a Xantia they are breaking for instance I would be interested.

The lock just won't latch around the catch pin. It is a central locking model but the rear central locking doesn't work anyhow and the doors are locked manually, so if it is simply a manual operated lock it shouldn't be a problem. I assume the locks are interchangeable between models? The lock has been getting progressively worse since I owned it so I am sure it's the lock and not a dropped door etc.

BTW, if it helps I am in East Sussex near Brighton

Thanks in advance

Keith

I'm in the process of dismantling a S2 estate at the moment, from what I can see/recall the locks appear different from S1 models. Anyway I believe I believe I have a set of locks from a S1 although they came from a saloon, when I get time I'll have a look on Citroën service and find what's what.

Acording to service.citroen.com they're identical. In fact Series 2 locks are specified as replacements for Series 1 cars.

Note that there are "simple" and "deadlock" locks. I'm not sure if these are interchangable. RH and LH sides are different.

Just a heads up on this one.

Paypal have been having big problems the past few days. I may be resolved now but after payments had been made, vendors were not receiving notification so people were not receiving goods paid for and assuming that the vendor was ripping them off.
YMMV.

It's just maintenance delays though I can understand how big problems can arise from it! :?
