FIXED: C5 climate control problem

Post by GB »

As of this morning the climate control in my C5 has stopped working.

The symptoms are: fan running on mid speed, a/c off, heating off, all buttons seem to work (when pressed all functions/temp display are changing on the display), except for the climate control system is not responding. It just keeps running on mid-speed.

Any ideas?

BTW, yesterday afternoon I had the battery disconnected for about 15 minutes to clean the terminals.

Cheers,

OK, it is working now.

Disconnected the battery again, reconnected it a few minutes later, climate control is working perfectly now. How weird.

You'll get used to that sort of thing on the C5. We had a similar problem with the rear wash/wipe. The first time it came back to life when I replaced the wiper blades (there's a service position that holds them vertical and that seemed to reset something) and the second time it came back to life when I posted a question on here.

More recently the self-levelling would shut down within a minute of starting the engine. This seems to have been caused by a bad earth in the brake lights.

Well, as long as there are no heater matrix leaks, noisy drop links and sticky rear height correctors I'm happy.

I've got one of those three!

Droplinks aren't badly priced though.

I'd recommend getting two droplinks!
