Today I have been putting a new cambelt and water pump on my very early (1993) 1.9TD Xantia.
I last did the same job over three years ago when I first got the car.
I'd forgotten just how easy and straightforward the job is on an early one with no aircon and those wonderful clip-on cambelt covers The whole job was a joy and a pleasure from start to finish!
I aslo had a great advantage that as I was the last one in there, no bolts were done up by a gorilla and even the crank pulley bolt gave in without resorting to the use of the starter motor
Those old MK1 original Xantias are the best. Why, oh, why did Citroen have to make later ones so much more difficult to work on
Clip on cambelt covers rock. No fiddly bolts and no nasty impossible 11mm bolt on the rear cover
An easy job for a change!!!
