Citroen C1 / C2 is it possible & legal to fit rear lap b

Post by ebod »

I'm interested in finding a wifes shopping car as small / economical as possible but it MUST be able to fit three pre-teen kids in the back. We have MPV , but if for any reason it breaks down we need the ability to alternate to the small car.

Years ago when we only had two kids, we bought a new VW Lupo. I remember at the time there was a std VW accessory option for a rear lap belt to bolt into existing anchor points.

Does anybody know whether the C1/C2 have this facility ?

As far as I'm aware all new models since 2001 have to have a 3 point belt for every seat.

Most (maybe all) C2 only have 2 belts in the back as it has 2 individual seats.
Currently driving a 2004 C5 VTR (old shape) and an Electric Kia Soul. Sorry but the electric one is my favourite!
Formerly Hyundai Genesis 3.8 V6, 2 x Kia Optima, 2 x C5, Xsara and Saxo.
