4035/3035 Radio operation

Post by MikeT »

I've made too many unsuccessful attempts to decode my radio cassette and it's now locked out. According the handbook, it requires one hour of being on continously. Countdown restarts if turned off and I don't normally drive for that length of time so when I read my handbook I was pleased to learn that it can be turned on without the key - it will then turn itself off after an hour. How perfect is that?

The only problem is, it doesn't turn on without the key. Yet, the manual clearly states "The audio system can also be used, without using the ignition key just by pressing button (B). In this case it will automatically turn itself off after 1 hour."
Button B is the on/off button but it has no effect when my ignition is off.

Can anyone confirm or deny this is the case? Perhaps it only works if the correct code has already been entered?

4035/3035 Radio operation

Hi Mike,
The radio in this V-reg HDi I now have is also locked out. Also I do not have the code. Someone here said code was last 4 numbers of barcode. I am going to remove the radio---fit up a 12v supply, set an alarm time, then perhaps I can kill two birds with one stone. :D

Isn't there an alternative fuse position which changes the radio from being switched by the ignition to being permanently on?

Gregg, I don't think the last 4 barcode numbers are the actual code, they are the numbers required by the decoder software which then calculates the correct code from it otherwise it's not exactly a secure security code is it? . Unfortunately, my barcode doesn't have the numbers printed with it :? so I made a note of all the numbers I could see - last one I tried was calculated from the serial number - which didn't work, even reversed. I've got two more guesses before I give up and go back to the dealers but they require I produce the logbook and that's in the hands of the previous owners or DVLA if it was sent off.

jeremy Do you mean the fuses that are listed as "shunt"? in the car's handbook? That may be one way to overcome this issue but it doesn't tally with what the audio handbook says - i.e. It will turn itself off after 1 hour if the key isn't used. Besides, there is no information about which shunt to change.

Haynes states that for cars before January 1998 fuse F1 is for radio or CD player (via ignition or battery direct depending on fuse position)

Sorry can't help anymore - never seen one!

Cheers jeremy, I'll see if there's something similar for later models.

Dears,

AFAIK 3035/4035 Clarions PIN can only be found/changed by opening the case, desoldering 93C46 8-pin EEPROM (with rotated pinout), read out the memory content in the EEPROM programmed & decode/change the PIN. If the radio has been locked out, one of the memory locations needs to be reset to 0, if I remember well (memory location right after PIN).

The Clarion calculator work only with the barcode numbers starting with C7000... but I haven't seen any 3035/4035 Clarion with that number. Some newer Clarions may have it.

All these details can be found at: http://www.xantiaclub.cz/forum/viewtopic.php?t=547

well it's in Czech but you can guess quite a lot there.

I can confirm that, my 4035 has no barcode numbers.... but I do wonder if a barcode reader will help.

I've tried codes calculated from several numbers printed on the label but they have not worked. I returned to Citroen's today as previously they did not find my particular vehicle details on their database (depsite me finding it on service.citroen.com). Citroen UK tell me to advise my local dealer to contact Technical Support as they have visibility of my car's details at their end - so I assume local dealer needs an update?

The local dealer told me it will probably cost me at least £20 for them to call technical support and then a further £25 for providing the code
