The first course of action with any poor starting / poor idling when first started problem should be to check the glow plugs regardless of how new they are!
I have seen a lot of post recently where people have had poor starting problems & assumed the worst, before they bothered to check the glow plugs.
Please check the glow plugs before you start on any other course of action!
In my experience NGK glow plugs give very poor results in the TD engine & personally I avoid them.

Have you checked inside the fuel filter since this started happenning?
The outside temps have been pretty low at night lately and veg oil even in 50/50 concentraition can form a jelly like substance on the bottom of your fuel filter this might starve the engine of a decent fuel flow.
I know I'm grabbing at straws but it was just a thought i have found this on my own car occassionally and performance has increased when the jelly has been cleaned off.
