Clutch Adjustment Citroen Saxo.

Post by jmd »

I recently added a Saxo 1.5 D to the household (for the wife) anybody know what is the correct clutch adjustment on this model - the clutch pedal seems to be far below the level of the brake pedal.

Measure from the top surface of the pedal to the floor. Press the pedal to the floor and again measure from top surface to floor. Take 2nd measurement from the 1st and difference should be 130mm +/- 5mm. If it isn't carry out adjustment at the lower end of the cable.

rule of thumb is about level with the brake pedel, or untill it gose into all the gears smoothly, or at least as smooth as an AX can, if the pedel has to be very high in order to alow selection of the gears it means you clutch is on the way out

Thanks everybody for your help - a job for tomorrow. Useful to know Citronut that you have an engine for sale, but hopefully it should not be needed here for some time. Present one has only 60,000 Mls covered.
