broken xsara door handle

Hi
I have an S reg citroen xsara diesel estate, the door handle has broken on the outside, to add to my problem the child safety lock is on so i can not open the door from the inside. is it a straight forward job of stripping the door from the inside to release the lock or is it as i have been told almost impossible to get the door open with the child lock set. Any ideas would be very welcome.

You might be able to put a hook through the hole in the door and pull on the mechanism to get it undone. Otherwise, you will need to strip the door panel off. Shouldn't be too bad on a rear door, although you will need to remove the seat base probably. As long as the door is unlocked getting it open should be OK - the real problem comes if the deadlock has set - then you have to smash the lock apart to get it off.....
