There are also differences in the relative locations of the input and output pipes. (The angles around the pump where they're located) I remember Anders posting a list from pr.net of all the different Xantia pumps some time ago and there were a stupid number of variations. (About 6 not counting the older single output types, which had their own variations...)

Have you tried Pleiades to see how much they charge for a recon?

Good luck with it.

4026.86 01 O-RING 44.2T3

- DIESEL XU
4026.88 03 O-RING DIAM 19-TO 2.4
- DIESEL XU
They are some 1-2 quid each. Note you need 3 each of the 2 types listed, for a full set. There is not to my knowledge a complete set. You will need the 3 part no. listed.
These O-rings are valid for all later style pump types.
Be careful dismantling the pump such the pump body bolts are unscrewed little by little to prevent stress. Otherwise there is a risc the bolts will snap.
On re-assembly, the bolts should be torqued equally in steps, sensible according to size and thread gauge. There is no info on the torque setting.

Actually thats not correct Anders, for a 6+2 two output pump you'll need the following:AndersDK wrote:Main stealers only.toldem_oldham wrote:Where can i get these pump kits from? does gsf do them or main stealers

One of 402686 - this is a large square section seal which seals the end cap where the power steering output comes out.
Six of 402687 - these are small green o-rings for the 6 pistons that provide for the power steering - they are under the torx head bolts.
Two of 402688 - these are the slightly larger black o-rings for the two pistons that provide for brakes/suspension - one under the steel pipe output that goes to the regulator, the other under the 19mm hex head bolt.
Furthermore there is another large o-ring seal between the main pump body and the triangular end plate that supports the pulley, and this is NOT provided by Citroen, but as luck would have it, a normal square section sphere neck seal is a perfect fit. This is the only seal not available from Citroen which is used in the pump.
Here's a picture of my old pump when I had it apart for new seals (and you can see the sphere neck seal sitting in the grove on the pulley section):
http://homepages.igrin.co.nz/simon/imag ... ppump1.jpg
I would offer some further warnings - the torx head bolts for the power steering pistons are EXTREMELY tight, and they cannot be undone with the pump body simply clamped in a vice, there are no suitable faces where you can grip the pump tightly enough without doing damage to the housing.
I was unable to get any of them undone with the facilities I had which included a proper torx bit with a 3/8" drive and a large vice, always the pump was trying to twist in the vice. The only way I could see of doing it would be to make a bracket that bolts to the pump in the same way as the original bracket on the car.
I'd also suggest not replacing any seals that aren't leaking (IMHO) and make sure to use the original Citroen types.
In my pump one of the black seals on the 2 piston section (the rear one with the blank hex head bolt) started leaking and the local replacements I found which looked almost exactly right all started leaking again within days because they weren't quite the right size or consistency - finally I got citrojim to post me over a few genuine citroen ones and they have been perfectly ok. (Thanks Jim ) So don't skimp on the quality of the seal

Simon
