Xsara locking problem

I have a 2002 Xsara HDI. When I unlock the driver's door it's ok & unlocks all the doors fine. When I then open the driver's door it locks itself. Sometimes it locks, unlocks, locks, unlocks, etc, about 10 times! I find myself locked in the car & can't manually unlock it from the inside, so I have to open the window & unlock it with the key!

Any ideas?

Check the bundle of wires which lead to the door (inside the black rubber sleeve). The wiring often strains and breaks here on Xsaras. This could also be the cause of the electric window fault you mention on the other thread.

as above, I had the same prob, N.b. give the wires a bit of a tug, mine were shot but the outercasing was hiding the fact.
