Hello all,
Sorry to be posting so many questions lately but trying to iron out all the small probs with my new xantia as I know nothing about this car.
Anyway, When I start the car I get a real annoying fast clicking sort of ticking buzzing sound which seems to be coming from behind the two air vents in the centre of the car above the radio.
It is faint when I turn the ignition on but when I actualy start the car it buzzes away.
It still does it if I turn the blowers off so dont think its that but its drivin me nuts.
If anyone has had a similar prob or knows what this is please be kind enough to share it with me before I pull out what little hair I have left.
many thanks in advance....Tim

The fan unclips from the right, or can be reached and dangled out by unclipping the clock from the top.
Mine’s kept quiet after applying goo to the plastic-to-metal contact surfaces.
The noise is a vibration of the motor in its mounting.
A clean and squirt can help, but it’s most important that nothing except the motor shaft can move.
Replacing with a new one is too expensive.
A used one may be as noisy, and just handling it may cause it to become noisy.
