C5 LDS Change

Post by JT »

Hi Folks,
Just wondering has anyone changed the LDS fluid in a C5 yet?
I was going to do my own soon as the car has almost 100,000 miles
clocked up.
I tried searching this site but can't find any details on the procedure.
I am assuming it will be different from the old LHM systems.
Should I expect fluid spillage as the resevoir sits on top of the pump?
Are there any filters to clean and where are they situated?
Do I need to prime the pump on refilling?
I would appreciate any help or ideas.
Thanks.

The easiest way to drain it is remove the o/s/f wheelarch liner & pull of the pipe that goes throught the wheelarch, this should give the minimum spillage. you can then easily remove the tank, the pump aint directly connected to the tank, just connected with a few pipes.
You must put the system in low & depressurise it first.

Thanks for that wheeler. Sounds straight forward enough.
Do you know if there are any filters to clean and if so is it ok to clean them with petrol like the Xantia filters?
