Newbie - with a worrying Citroen obsession

Post by citroenesque »

Hiya all. I have finally signed up - as a fairly active member of the BX Club forum, I thought it time to spread my wings a little. This is mainly because I now have a ZX too!

I owned my first BX in 1993 (a GTi) and after a period of Citroen starvation finally returned to the fold with a '74 GSX when I lived in France, 2001-2003. Haven't looked back since! I've had a Visa GTi (with 8v 1.9 GTI engine  ) and - let me see... a BX GTi auto, BX GTi (chipped :D ), another GTi auto, another couple of GTi's (I like them  ), a BX TXD Estate (my first diesel), a BX 16TGS auto, a ZX Aura turbo-D, a BX 19TRS...

...and now, a 1991 BX 16 valve and a 1995 ZX Volcane turbo-D (more about them later).

Yes I know it's a 8X at the end of the Beemers number plate, but it looks like if you squint, and use your imagination sort of like BX.

I was behind a Honda Civic last night, and the second part of the index was CMC with the middle of the M dropped down to level of the two vertical lines in the M, it read like IVI so it meant you had to do a double take to read it correctly. Read quickly it appeared to look like CIVIC.

Nice pics and very shiny cars, not like mine I'm afraid. If you are going to graduate to and XM you will have to hurry, there ar'nt many left

Love that Orange GS - pic looks like it's straight out of a brochure.
Is it still alive now today? Hope so...

Sadly not. The day after I got it all fixed up we took it out and a 19-yr old student in an Uno pulled straight out in front of us on a deserted French main road and it was a write off. Luckily we were all shaken but not hurt.
