jon,
have you got any further on the metal clutch cable clip?
as have found out after doing 600 miles in one day that my clutch seems a lot heavier that i thought & might look at replacing the cable & clip
this might start to solve my current problems with having trouble of getting it into gear first time

We were actually going to visit the supplier last Friday, and bring back some samples. However, due a colleagues illness, the trip was cancelled.
I will try and get the guy to post me some. I will then advice price and scan a picture of it.

Did this progress any further? Was the metal clip any good? Do peugeots really have a metal clip?
Thanks

I was wondering the same. Seems quite a bit of grief could be avoided!

Could be very interesting to get a metal clip supply. Was looking for a TD Xantia today for a mate who i have 'converted', found one going for under £200 as it had a clutch that had simply gone one day. Im guessing by the rest of the article that its simply owned by someone who doesnt have a clue about the car. If it was just the link, how nice would that be :D

Many thanks for the information Jon and Phil. I might just write him a letter. The metal bits can live in the glovebox until the seemingly inevitable happens.....

I have it on good authority that they are £20 inc VAT, maybe a little extra for postage.

I have posted a picture of a completed clutch cable mod at the above link.
I used a metal link from a peugeot 405 Diesel.
The uppermost tip on the Xantia cable was removed and the metal link slightly modified to facilitate access.
Removing the pedal is another subject which I think has already been covered in this forum and is not so daunting as it might at first seem.
For about a fiver a long fishook disgorger can be purchased from a fishing shop which greatly assists when messing about with the xantia clip.
