Rear suspension creaky

The rear suspension on my Xantia has, of late, got very creaky, especially noticeable when just getting out of the car as it makes a creaky noise.
What is wrong with it? How much would it cost to fix and are there any temorary remedies that I can employ to keep it quiet for the time being.

Probably rear arm bearings, a typical fault. Check the other topics, you can find a lot about it.

it does sound like your rear arm bearings are worn out, a good way to chekc is the park the car on a flat surface, stand behind it - about 5m away, look at the rear wheels, if they are |\ or /\. then it looks like you bearings have worn out.
