Ignition Switched Live

Is the Cigerette lighter socket in a Xantia Ignition switched for either the one on the side of the centre Console(i have a Mk2) or the one in the ashtray?

The reason i ask is im going to try and fit my carkit for my SE P990i this weekend to help with making it easier to use for satnav and keep my phone charged and the xantias dash looks well suited to bolting it in and keeping the holes and wires very well hidden :)

The socket in the passenger foot well on my 2001 HDi is ignition switched. I haven't checked the cig lighter - but on my Mk1 this was permanetly live.

Hi, there is a shunt in the fuses compartment under the steering wheel. The shunt has two possible positions and controlls, whether the cigarette lighter is powerred constantly or only with the ignition on.
